Danielle and I connected after I commented on a post she’d shared in a Facebook group, calling for a designer to assist with creating the visual branding for her new venture, Forage Local – an online marketplace for Los Angeles makers + shoppers that will be launching soon in the LA area, with the hopes to expand it’s reach further in the near future. I feel particularly honoured that I ended up working with her after she’d had an overwhelming response to her post, but Danielle said she’d enjoyed the discussion/connection we’d had during our initial call, and that my past work stood out for her. She had previously worked with another designer on the logo for Forage, but felt that the resulting design work was not meeting her requirements – I was challenged with the task of creating something new and exciting – something BOLD, BRAVE and COMMUNITY DRIVEN – the keywords we carefully selected for the brand after a thorough briefing process.

With a successful first draft of the visual identity, only having to make a few tweaks to finalise the design and colours, this project felt really intuitive for me – the outcome is a strong, recognisable and bold brand, with a nod to Danielle’s personal connection/history with the idea of foraging and looking locally for things that we need and love.
